何かスゴイ事になっていますね。もうゲーム機じゃない。むしろリナザウに近いマシンになるようです。これは日本人の方にも参加を呼びかけた方がいいかもしれないなぁ。とりあえずEngadget Japaneseにでもタレこもうかな。

GP2Xに新型の噂……

せっかくなので一個だけ情報を。どうやら、GP2Xの新型が企画されているらしいです。まだ計画段階らしいのですが、かなり信憑性のある情報らしいです。断片的な情報しか掴んでいませんが、以下のような噂が流れています。

乾電池ではなく、DSやPSPのような充電池。
まともなハードウェアデザイン。GP2Xをデザインした人は首になったらしい（笑）。
まともなコントロール部分。少なくともPSPレベル？
armベースのCPU。おそらくシングル？　GP2Xはデュアルだけど意味無いので却下（笑）。
GP2Xのソフトウェアとの互換性。これは微妙だけど、ある程度は確保されるらしい？
OSはLinuxベース。
GP2Xより更にOSS志向。PSPのようにHomebrewを締め出すのではなく、むしろ多くのコーダーに参加してもらえるようにする。出来うる限りの資料をオープンにしたい。
企画にCraigix氏が参加。完全に韓国スタッフ主導だったGP2Xのハードウェアとしての完成度の低さを反省し、欧米のCraigix氏やEvilDragon氏らが企画段階から参加。
コミュニティの意見を尊重。上記と被るが、より良いマシンを目指すために、コミュニティからの意見を取り入れて後継機を作るらしい。現在、GP32x.com上のスレッドで意見募集中。
今年の12月あたりに動きが……。

こんな感じでしょうか。といってもほとんどいい加減な情報かもしれません。あんまり真剣に読んでいないもので。でも何かしら後継機に向けて動いているのは確かみたいです。楽しみですね。

Pingoo!に登録

せっかくなのでPing一括送信サービス「Pingoo!」に登録してみました。以前に見たときにはなかったプレミアム会員とか出来ているけど大丈夫なのかなぁ。まぁ私は無料会員で利用させていただきますが。って設定方法これであっているのかなぁ……。

NanoBook UMD

これまた気になるニュースですね。VIAが「NanoBook UMD」という名のUMPCライクなモバイルガジェットを製作中だとか。しかも結構いい感じみたいです。詳しくは関連記事を読んでいただくとして、ざっと見たところのスペックは以下の通りみたいです。

コレのおもしろいところは液晶画面のサイズが840 x 480に抑えられている代わりに、横の空きスペースを利用してUSB接続のデバイス（独自規格）を設置する事ができるところですね。例えばBT接続のVOIP電話機やGPSレシーバー、日本だとワンセグとかですかね。うーん、別に独自規格のデバイスじゃなくて普通にExpressCardとかで十分な気もしますけど。ただサブディスプレイとして使いたい場合などには威力を発揮するかもしれませんね。ホビー用途というよりも、何かの専用機器とかとのドッキングみたいな。検査用とかの。

それと、わざわざWindowsとLinux対応と書いてあるので、おそらくですが内蔵BTや無線LANのチップも動作確認済みのメーカー品なのかもしれませんね。そうだとしたら、かなり嬉しいのですが。ちゃんとメーカー名も出ているので後で調べてみようかな。肝心な値段ですが、アメリカ本土での値段は約600ドルくらいを想定しているみたいです。これなら結構買いですね。ちなみに2007の後半に発売予定らしいです。日本でも手に入るかな。

ついでに書くと、HDDじゃなくて今流行のSSDにしたりしたらおもしろそうですね。値段的にはどうなのかわかりませんけど。確かインテルが発表した200ドルPCってSSDでしたよね？　あれもおもしろいですけど、もう少しデザインがいけてたらなぁ。

ご無沙汰ですが……

はてなダイアリーから移行したのはいいのですが、放置しっぱなしで申し訳ありません。まぁ誰も気にしてはいないでしょうけど（笑）。ちょっと現実世界の方が危険な状態なので……。もう暫く、省エネ運転になると思いますが、細々とは更新すると思うので、これからもよろしくお願いします。はぁ早く普通の社会人に戻りたいです。

XREA Mail & Backup サービス

ようやくXREAのMail専用サービスが開始されるみたいです。しかもBackup機能つきらしいです。正直メールに関しては、ほぼ完全にGmailに移行してしまったので、あんまり有難みは無い状態です。私の場合Gmailで独自ドメインのメールアドレスも受信させちゃってますから。Gmailで外部メールを取り込むと、即時性はありませんが、2GBを超える容量と強力な検索機能を使えますからね。これは便利です。

即時性に関しては、もう1つGmailアカウントを作成して独自ドメインから転送させています。これでだいたいは大丈夫です。難としては多少Gmailの信頼性に問題がある事かな。時々ログインできない時ありますし。あとはセキュリティですか。まぁ私はビジネスには一切使っていないので、あんまり気にしていませんけどね。ただパスワード関係もたまにあるので、その辺りはちょっと不安かも。

Ubuntu Mobile and Embedded Edition

おおっ、これはスゴイ情報です。Ubuntuコミュニティがモバイルと組み込み用途向けのOSを開発するとの事らしいです。しかも、あのインテルと組んで！　これは大きな前進ですね。おそらく現在インテルが開発しているモバイル用のCPUに特化したものになりそうですね。何て名前でしたっけ？　例のLinuxベースの新モバイルプラットフォーム「MID」 (Mobile Internet Devices)関連のプロジェクトなんですかね。

いやはや、このようなプロジェクトが実現してしまうと、VIAのC7や、AMDのGeode辺りじゃ太刀打ちできない可能性が大ですね。もしかしたらOLPCの存在が大きかったりして。だいぶインテル様が気にしているらしいですし。何にせよ、あと3年くらいの間で、モバイル、組み込み系の勢力図が大きく変わる可能性がありますね。楽しみです。

みなわ日記、移行完了？

ようやく、はてなダイアリーからの移行が一段落つきました。まだまだ、微妙なところがありますが、一応この状態で日記を再開したいと思います。わざわざこの日記を見に来てくれている人がいましたら、数日間の不安定をお詫びします。トラブルが無ければ、暫くは安定していると思います。これからもよろしくお願いします。

はてなダイアリーを休止

最近だいぶ煮詰まってきたので、気分転換の意味も込め以前から考えていた、はてなダイアリーから独自ドメインへの移行を実行したいと思います。おそらくですがGW中には実行したいと思います。長い間ありがとうございました。

おこめ券

生まれて初めておこめ券を使いました。意外と使える場所が無くって困ってしまいました。運良く近くのホームセンターで使えたのですが、レジでまた問題が。どうやら、おこめ券を使う人がほとんどいないらしく、レジ打ちの仕方が分からなかったらしいのです。おかげで10分程待たされました。

レジのおばさんは私に謝ってくれたのですが、むしろ私の方が悪い事をしてしまったなと反省しました。素直に現金で支払っておいた方がよかったかな。でもまだ数枚残っているのだよなぁ。おこめ券って微妙な券ですよね。何故かひらがなだし。関西だといろいろあるみたいですね。下ネタでごめんなさい。
